Taiwan's Diplomatic Struggles in Latin America

The US is seen as powerless to stop Taiwan's diplomatic losses in Latin America, with Paraguay being the next country to flip loyalties to Beijing. Some US policymakers and independent analysts believe that Paraguay is the likeliest to ditch Taiwan in the near term, especially if the South American country's opposition wins the April 30 elections and makes good on its promise to embrace China, as its agricultural lobby has demanded.
