TL;DR
The Kremlin is facing a sweeping investigation into the recent mercenary rebellion led by Yevgeniy Prigozhin's Wagner group, with questions arising about the whereabouts of Gen. Sergei Surovikin, commander of the Russian aerospace forces. Some members of the Russian elite are showing loyalty to President Putin, while rumors circulate about support for Prigozhin from the military or security services. The investigation aims to determine how the situation spiraled out of control and who is responsible.
