The Chinese embassy in London has criticized the UK's security minister, Tom Tugendhat, for meeting with Taiwan's digital minister, Audrey Tang, during a rare high-level ministerial trip to Britain. China considers Taiwan as part of its territory and fiercely objects to perceived foreign interference with the island. The embassy said the meeting violated international relations and the one-China principle, and sent a wrong signal to the separatist forces for 'Taiwan independence'.
