Exploring the Asian American Identity: Insights from Recent Reports and Surveys

According to a new study by the Pew Research Center, 51% of Asian American adults say all or most of their friends in the US share their ethnicity or are also Asian. The study also found that definitions of who is considered "Asian" vary by ethnic group, with Central Asians being identified as "Asian" by only 43% of Asian adults. Despite these differences, around 60% of those surveyed said that what happens to other Asians in the US impacts their own lives, and 70% said they want a national leader that advances the concerns of the Asian community. The American dream was described as having freedom of choice to live one's life, having a good family life, and retiring comfortably.
