Global Happiness Rankings: Israel Ranks 4th, Finland Holds Top Spot for 6th Year in a Row

Israel has climbed to fourth place in the World Happiness rankings, its highest position since the index began in 2012. The rankings are based on residents' own assessment of their situation, as well as economic and social data. Finland topped the list for the sixth year running, while Afghanistan was the unhappiest country. The survey was conducted between 2020 and 2022, before the government revealed its plans for judicial overhaul. The ranking could be explained by a strong economic recovery following the coronavirus pandemic and the level of hope and optimism among some populations as a result of the broad unity government.
