Iranian Women Arrested and Attacked for Not Wearing Hijab

Two women in Iran were attacked with yoghurt by a man for not wearing a hijab in public. The women were subsequently arrested for violating the country's hijab rules, and the man was arrested for disturbing public order. Iran's judiciary chief has threatened to prosecute women who appear in public unveiled "without mercy". The arrests come amid growing dissent in Iranian society over the mandatory hijab law, with several women ditching their veils since the death of a Kurdish woman in custody last September.
