Tragedy Strikes as Student's Body Found in Flooded New Zealand Cave
TL;DR
The body of a high-school student was found in a cave system after a school group encountered difficulty when floodwaters hit in New Zealand. The student death has raised questions about why school officials continued with the trip after forecasters warned there was heavy rain approaching. Heavy rainfall and flooding Tuesday prompted authorities in Auckland to declare a state of emergency. The declaration remained in place Wednesday morning as the weather eased.
