Elderly American Tourist Fatally Injured by Elephant During Zambian Safari

An 80-year-old American woman was killed by a charging elephant during a wildlife safari in Zambia's Kafue National Park. The incident, captured on video, occurred when the elephant unexpectedly charged at the vehicle carrying six guests and a guide. The woman, identified as Gail Mattson, was airlifted to a hospital in South Africa but was pronounced dead. Four others sustained minor injuries. An investigation into the incident has been launched, and efforts are underway to repatriate the woman's body to her family.
