Afghan migrant charged in Greece after Scottish aid worker found in suitcase

An Afghan migrant, Sharif Ahmadzai, appeared in an Athens court charged with murder and robbery in connection with the death of Elisabeth Jane Ross, a 38-year-old Scottish aid worker whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase at an abandoned building after she arrived in Greece to visit friends. Ahmadzai was identified from street CCTV footage wheeling the large suitcase; the investigation involved Greek police, the UK National Crime Agency, Police Scotland and U.S. authorities. He was granted 24 hours to prepare a defense ahead of another court appearance as the case continues.
