Ukraine widens long-range strikes into Russia, targeting military and energy sites

Ukraine has escalated its cross-border activity with extended long-range strikes inside Russia, hitting military and energy targets as Moscow reports air-defence downing most drones. Kyiv says it has secured commitments for additional air-defence systems and ammunition and is pursuing funding to buy interceptor missiles. The conflict continues to spill over into border regions, with drones striking Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia and a reported casualty toll, while casualties were also reported in Odesa after Russian drone activity.
