UK watchdog clears Microsoft's Activision Blizzard takeover of antitrust concerns.
The Competition Markets Authority in the UK has updated its provisional finding on Microsoft's acquisition of Activision, stating that the deal would not result in a substantial lessening of competition in relation to console gaming in the UK. The CMA believes that Microsoft would still have the incentive to make Call of Duty available on PlayStation even after the acquisition, and that it would not be commercially beneficial for Microsoft to make the franchise exclusive to Xbox. The final ruling from the CMA is due on April 26.
