Widow and Son of Former Cook County Commissioner Die in Chicago Home
Barbara Deer and her son Kaleb Deer were found shot dead Tuesday at their West Arthington Street home; Barbara was shot three times, Kaleb once in the head. They were the wife and son of the late Cook County Commissioner Dennis Deer, who died in 2024 from complications after a double lung transplant.
