Repeat bank robber, 78, apologizes for scaring teller
Bonnie Gooch, a 78-year-old woman with two past bank robbery convictions, has been charged with stealing or attempting to steal from a financial institution in Missouri. During the recent holdup, Gooch handed a note to a teller that read, "I didn’t mean to scare you." She was apprehended less than two miles away from the bank and reportedly smelled strongly of alcohol. Gooch was also convicted of robbing a California bank in 1977 and one in the Kansas City suburb of Lee’s Summit in 2020.
