
Tragedy Strikes Baltimore Firefighters: One Dead, Two Hospitalized; Community Rallies in Support
Two firefighters remain hospitalized, one in serious condition, after a fire in Northwest Baltimore that claimed the life of firefighter Rodney Pitts III. Four firefighters were injured in the blaze, three of whom were assisting with rescue efforts. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as Baltimore Police's arson and homicide units. A GoFundMe campaign has been established by the Baltimore Firefighters Union to support Pitts' family, raising $17,000 so far. State and local leaders have expressed condolences and flags were flown at half-staff to honor Pitts' sacrifice.
