Former University of Louisville athletics director, Vince Tyra, has been appointed as the incoming CEO of Gildan Activewear Inc., a global apparel manufacturer with over $3 billion in annual sales. Tyra, who previously worked at Fruit of the Loom and Houchens Industries, will continue to reside in Louisville while overseeing the company's operations from Montréal. Gildan, known for brands like American Apparel and Comfort Colors, is valued at nearly $6 billion and has a widespread global presence.
