Fighting Global Corruption: Tools and Accountability

The United States Department of State and Treasury have designated over 30 individuals and 44 entities, including former government officials from Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Liberia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands, for their involvement in significant corruption. These designations are made under Section 7031(c) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act and Executive Order 13818, which implements the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act. The actions aim to promote accountability for corrupt actors and prevent their entry into the United States.
