Judge rules H-1B visa spouses can work in US tech sector.
A US judge has upheld an Obama-era rule allowing the spouses of H-1B visa holders to work in the US, dismissing a suit brought by Save Jobs USA. The group had argued that the Department of Homeland Security did not have the authority to issue H-4 visas, which have been granted to hundreds of thousands of highly skilled foreign workers. Tech companies, including Amazon, Apple, Google and Microsoft, had urged the judge to let the rule stand, saying it was a major attraction for foreign workers.
