Fatal Hit-and-Run Claims Asheville Cyclist's Life
A 35-year-old bicyclist, identified as Patrick Jeffery Leroy, was killed in a hit-and-run collision with a sedan on Hendersonville Road in Asheville. The cyclist was traveling southbound in the turn lane when a blue sedan traveling northbound attempted to pass another vehicle by using the turn lane, resulting in a head-on collision. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene but was later located. The Asheville Police Department is continuing to investigate and will consult with the Buncombe County District Attorney's Office regarding charges.
