Former FBI Agent Arrested for Role in Jan. 6 Capitol Riot and Inciting Violence Against Police
Jared Wise, a former supervisory special agent in charge of Homegrown Violent Extremism for the FBI New York Field Office's Joint Terrorism Task Force, has been arrested and charged with four misdemeanor counts for his involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Wise allegedly urged rioters to "kill" officers during the attack. He served in the homegrown violent extremism role from 2014 to 2017. Several current and former law enforcement officials, along with active members of the military and military veterans, have been arrested in connection with the attack.
