Deblack deceived over 200 people into thinking their entry fees were going to charity, and participants bought numbered spots to win brand-new items. She tried to disguise her activities after receiving a warning from the police. Deblack has been charged with conducting a lottery 12 times and could face up to 12 years in prison and a $36,000 fine if convicted.
