
Boston City Councilor Kendra Lara Pleads Not Guilty to Charges in JP Crash that Injured Her Son
Boston City Councilor Kendra Lara pleaded not guilty to charges related to a June car crash in which she slammed her car into a home in Jamaica Plain. Lara is facing charges including operating a motor vehicle after suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She is now also facing two additional charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and assault and battery on a child with injury. Lara's 7-year-old son was in the car during the crash and was hospitalized with injuries. The next court date is scheduled for August 16.
