Firefighters successfully halt the spread of 1,290-acre East Fire near Bakersfield
The Kern County Fire Department and assisting agencies have halted the progress of a 1,290-acre brush fire named the 'East Fire' near Round Mountain Road in Bakersfield. The fire, which started in a rural area, is not currently threatening any structures, and no injuries have been reported. Operations are ongoing to increase containment along the fire perimeter.
