"Americans' Lack of Knowledge on July 4th Celebrations Revealed: Report"
A recent survey conducted by OnePoll found that over 40% of Americans do not know why the United States celebrates July 4th, with only 59% correctly identifying it as the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Additionally, 45% of respondents guessed the wrong date for the signing, and 40% were unaware that the "right to bear arms" is part of the Second Amendment. Surprisingly, 11% did not know that "the right to free speech" is protected under the First Amendment. However, the survey also revealed that a majority of respondents correctly identified the President as the "Commander in Chief" and the "Star Spangled Banner" as the National Anthem.
