Nathan Chasing Horse, the actor from Dances with Wolves, was sentenced in Las Vegas to life in prison after being convicted on more than a dozen charges of sexually assaulting Indigenous women and girls, including a 14-year-old victim. Prosecutors say he exploited his status as a spiritual leader in a two-decade pattern of abuse; he denies the allegations and faces additional charges in Canada (British Columbia) with a warrant in Alberta. Parole eligibility is in 2063.
