"Reduced Long-Term COVID-19 Consequences in Vaccinated Individuals: New Study Findings"
A retrospective cohort study in Hong Kong examined the long-term health consequences of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the impact of COVID-19 vaccination. The study found a gradual reduction in the risk of clinical sequelae over one year, with COVID-19 vaccination, especially booster doses, effectively reducing the risk of long-term health consequences. Unvaccinated patients were at a greater risk of certain clinical sequelae, including all-cause mortality, up to one year following infection. The findings provide real-world evidence supporting the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in preventing long-term health consequences following SARS-CoV-2 infection.
