Denver Seeks Dismissal of Marlon Wayans' Luggage Dispute Case

Denver prosecutors have requested the dismissal of a case against actor and comedian Marlon Wayans, who accused an airline employee of targeting him due to his race during a luggage dispute. Wayans' lawyers presented evidence of white passengers being allowed to violate luggage limits, prompting the city attorney's office to determine that it is not in the interests of justice to proceed with the case. Wayans applauded the decision, hoping it raises awareness of implicit and explicit bias, while his lawyers emphasized the importance of not wrongfully accusing and convicting innocent Black individuals.

Marlon Wayans cited for altercation with United worker at Denver airport.

Actor and comedian Marlon Wayans was cited for disturbing the peace after a dispute with a United Airlines employee over carry-on luggage at Denver airport. Wayans said he was told he had too many bags and despite consolidating his luggage, he was told he would have to gate check his bag rather than carry it on. Wayans took his ticket and began walking onto the plane, but United issued a statement saying the customer did not fly on United to his destination. Wayans booked a flight instead on American Airlines to Kansas City and apologized to his fans for missing a performance.
