John Neuenschwander, a Fargo resident, received a life-saving heart transplant at Mayo Clinic after 40 years of heart issues. Minnesota State Troopers formed a relay through road construction to rush the donor heart from the Twin Cities to the operating room. Mayo Clinic, celebrating its 60th anniversary of organ transplants, performs over 140 heart transplants annually and utilizes advanced medical technology like the "heart in a box" method to revive donor hearts. Neuenschwander is grateful to the donor family and the troopers, and is now recovering with the support of his family and loved ones.
