Missouri River Bridge Crash Causes I-70 Shutdown and Beer Spill
Interstate 70 westbound at the Missouri River bridge reopened after a multi-vehicle crash involving at least six vehicles, including two tractor-trailers, shut it down for more than five hours. The crash was caused by an unknown vehicle that swerved and braked abruptly in front of a 2011 GMC van, causing a chain reaction crash. Three cows died after jumping off the bridge. Traffic was detoured down Highway 40, causing significant backups and delays. The crash caused frustration for semi-truck drivers, who rely on I-70 as a transportation hub.
