A three-vehicle accident in Hickory Hill, Memphis, left one person and a Memphis Police Officer in critical condition. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it was not related to a pursuit. The Specialized Traffic Investigation Squad is conducting the ongoing investigation.
A retired MPD officer, identified as 57-year-old Mark Lesure, was found dead at a South Memphis home. Lesure, who recently graduated from college and joined the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, was remembered by his fraternity brothers as a man of perseverance who had made significant contributions to the community as a school resource officer and golf coach. The investigation into his death is ongoing.
