Sony's Multimedia Streaming Service Poised to Outshine Game Pass, Analyst Predicts
Analyst Karol Severin from Midia Research suggests that Sony could outperform Microsoft's Game Pass by launching a multimedia streaming service that combines gaming, film, television, and music. While Sony's game library alone may not match Microsoft's, Severin believes that a subscription offering with Sony's impressive content catalog could pose a solid competitive response to Xbox's cross-platform efforts. However, Severin also notes that for Sony to truly rival Microsoft in gaming, it would need to acquire a company similar in size to Activision Blizzard, although he considers this possibility unlikely.
