IGN explains why they don't review everything multiple times and average out the scores. With the internet, there are already many opinions available for free, and producing multiple reviews of the same thing is not a practical way of reviewing things on a large scale. Additionally, it would create an unsustainable amount of work, dramatically increase the cost, and cause confusion for very little gain.
