Listeria Contamination Prompts Recall of Mung Bean Sprouts in Massachusetts
Chang Farm in Whately, Massachusetts has recalled all 10-pound bags and 12-ounce retail bags of mung bean sprouts due to possible listeria contamination. The recall affects products sold under the name of Chang Farm and Nature’s Wonder with a sell-by date of May 7, 2023. The products were distributed to retail stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Consumers are advised to throw out the product, sanitize their fridge and wash their hands with warm water and soap after sanitizing. Listeria can cause deadly infections in young children, elderly people, pregnant women, and those with a weakened immune system.
