Night one of the 2026 News & Documentary Emmy Awards in New York saw ABC News and National Geographic top the wins: ABC World News Tonight won Outstanding Live News Program and The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper won Outstanding Recorded News Program, with ABC taking eight awards overall and Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller via NatGeo/Muck Media winning seven; CNN earned four. Amber Ruffin hosted the ceremony at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and lifetime achievement honors were presented to Martha Raddatz (with Sam Pollard receiving his on Thursday).
