Special Counsel Alleges Trump Deliberately Misled Lawyers on Classified Documents
Prosecutors in the special counsel investigation of former President Donald Trump believe he deliberately misled his own attorneys about his handling of classified documents after leaving office, according to a sealed filing presented to a Washington court. The filing reportedly contains evidence that Trump committed "criminal violations" and misled his lawyers. As a result, a judge ordered Trump attorney Evan Corcoran to comply with a grand jury subpoena and offer records and testimony in the investigation. The potential new testimony could include previously unknown details about Trump's handling of national security records found at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Trump is also facing potential criminal charges in New York for his role in paying off two women during the 2016 campaign season.
