Greta Thunberg Fined by Swedish Court for Defying Police
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has been fined for disobeying a police order to leave a climate protest in Malmo. Thunberg, who pleaded not guilty, argued that her actions were necessary due to the climate emergency. The court ordered her to pay 1,500 Swedish crowns ($144) and an additional 1,000 crowns to the fund for crime victims. Thunberg became internationally known for her weekly protests in front of the Swedish parliament.
