Netflix Cuts 1,000 Jobs, Hitting TV Development and Awards Teams
Netflix is eliminating approximately 1,000 positions, representing 6% of its global workforce, in its largest reduction in years. Co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters announced the cuts via internal memo, citing the need for 'discipline' in resource allocation despite strong financial performance. While product, technology, legal, and HR teams face the heaviest impact, significant departures have occurred in TV development and awards strategy, including the exit of longtime director Carolina Garcia.
