Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will introduce "totally new cities" that were not present in the original game, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi. These cities, such as Crow's Nest, will offer players the opportunity to explore beyond the main quest and engage in side adventures. Square Enix aims to create a deep and expansive world in Rebirth, expanding upon the original Final Fantasy 7. The game is set to release on February 29, 2024, and will also feature new story content centered around Zack and potentially provide backstory for Sephiroth.
