Brewers storm back to topple Cubs 9-4, widening NL Central lead
Milwaukee erased a 3-0 deficit and scored nine of the final 10 runs to beat Chicago 9-4 at Wrigley. Christian Yelich and Joey Ortiz homered, and Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang and William Contreras collected multiple hits as the bullpen held the Cubs to one run after starter Robert Gasser departed. The win extends Milwaukee’s NL Central lead to eight games with two games left in the series. Ortiz added a late two-run homer in the eighth; the Brewers also recalled Bo Naylor and reinstated JoJo Romero, improving to 86-53, the MLB’s best record.
