
Extreme Grand Canyon heat leaves several hikers dead
Several hikers died from heat-related illness on Grand Canyon trails in June, including an 18-year-old on Bright Angel Trail and a 72-year-old on South Kaibab, plus a 67-year-old male and 68-year-old female on North Kaibab; the National Park Service warns Inner Canyon shade temperatures can exceed 109 F at midday and is investigating.
