NY Governor Signs Bill Protecting Gender-Affirming Care and LGBTQ+ Community
Governor Hochul signed a bill to protect access to gender-affirming care in New York, preventing the state from cooperating in hostile states' retaliation against gender-affirming care providers, patients, family members, and those who help people access care. The New York Civil Liberties Union praised the move, saying it ensures that New York will not participate in other states' attempts to punish people for seeking or helping someone access gender-affirming care.
