Fireworks Attacks on Police and Firefighters Rock Des Moines
Firefighters and police officers in Des Moines responded to a potential structure fire on the Fourth of July, only to have fireworks thrown at them by a group of juveniles or young adults. The police beefed up their presence to protect the fire crews, and after determining there was no fire, they left. The Oakridge Neighborhood, where the incident occurred, stated that they do not condone fireworks on their campus, and an investigation is underway to identify those involved.
