Penn Trustees Demand Stronger Response to Palestine Writes Uproar and Antisemitic Incident at Pa. College
Over 2,000 Penn alumni and supporters, including multiple current members of Penn's Board of Trustees, have signed an open letter to President Liz Magill demanding stronger action against the Palestine Writes Literature Festival. The signatories expressed concerns about alleged antisemitic speakers at the festival and called for the university to distance itself from the event, implement mandatory antisemitism awareness training, and ensure the safety and inclusion of Jewish students, faculty, and staff. Some alumni donors are considering retracting or redirecting their donations to the university.
