French Senator Arrested for Allegedly Drugging Female MP

French senator Joël Guerriau is being held in custody on suspicion of drugging Sandrine Josso, a female MP, with the intention of assaulting her. Guerriau is facing charges of administering a substance to impair discernment or control over actions in order to commit rape or sexual assault. Josso accused Guerriau of drugging her with ecstasy after she went to his house for dinner. Samples taken from Josso's body revealed the presence of ecstasy, and searches conducted at Guerriau's office and home found ecstasy as well. The investigations are being conducted under the aegis of the Paris public prosecutor's office, and parliamentary immunity does not apply in this case.
