Jimmy Carter Makes Surprise Appearance at Peanut Festival After Hospice Care
Former President Jimmy Carter, who has been in hospice care since February, made a surprise appearance at a peanut festival in his Georgia hometown with his wife, Rosalynn. The couple, who celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary this summer, rode through the festival in a black SUV. Carter, who turns 99 on October 1, is the longest-living former US president. Despite health issues, including melanoma, he has responded well to treatment.
