Hersheypark Ends 120th Summer Season With Permanent Closure of Tidal Force
Hersheypark in Hershey, PA, announced on Sept. 7, 2026, that it will permanently close its 32-year-old water ride Tidal Force on The Boardwalk after the park’s 120th summer season. The ride, which opened in 1994 and features a 100-foot incline with speeds over 50 mph, won’t be replaced as part of the Boardwalk. The park will remain open on weekends through Nov. 1 for fall events (Hersheypark Halloween and Dark Nights) and will host Christmas Candylane through Jan. 3, 2027, with reopening planned for early 2027, though an exact date hasn’t been announced.
