MultiVersus has gone completely offline as it prepares for a relaunch in early 2024 by Warner Bros and developer Play First Games. The game's open beta was initially popular, but the daily peak player count fell dramatically, possibly due to a tepid response to Season 2 content. Players now have limited offline access to local matches and the game's training room, and all locked characters and cosmetics will be fully unlocked until the relaunch.
MultiVersus, the Warner Bros. crossover brawler, will be shutting down its online services on June 25th until its full launch in early 2024. The game and its premium currency will also be removed from digital storefronts on April 4th. During the downtime, players can still access offline modes, but the team won't be updating the game until its relaunch. Players will keep all their unlocks, but there will be no refunds for in-game purchases. The studio plans to focus on new characters, maps, modes, and improvements to the netcode and matchmaking system.
