Ubisoft's newly released free-to-play shooter XDefiant has achieved significant early success, reaching 1 million unique players in just two and a half hours and surpassing 3 million users within 48 hours. The game also attracted around 300k concurrent players across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, making it the fastest title in Ubisoft history to reach 1 million unique users. Ubisoft is betting big on free-to-play titles, with plans to launch Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence later this year. The key challenge will be retaining players in the long term.
