The Pentagon is investigating a "critical compromise" of communications across 17 US Air Force facilities after a 48-year-old engineer at the Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee allegedly took home government radio technologies. The engineer had unauthorized access to radio communication technology used by the Air Education and Training Command (AETC), affecting 17 defense department installations. Investigators found evidence of the engineer selling radios and radio equipment, possessing air force equipment, and possibly having access to FBI communications and Tennessee state agencies. The FBI is working with the Air Force on the investigation.
