Pike survives lethal injection, wakes 'angry' as court orders evidence preservation
Christa Pike, a Tennessee death row inmate, survived two lethal injections on September 30 and woke up 'angry and confused' after days of unconsciousness. Her lawyers describe her recovery as unprecedented, noting she was believed to be brain-dead before regaining consciousness. A judge has ordered the state to preserve all evidence from the failed execution, including medical supplies and communications, as Pike faces severe physical injuries and legal battles over her future.
