
Investigation Launched into Officer-Involved Shooting in Red Oak
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into an incident where a Red Oak police officer shot a man who allegedly drove his vehicle at the officer. The officer was investigating the man for driving without a valid license when a physical struggle ensued. The man managed to escape, got into his vehicle, and drove recklessly towards the officer, prompting the officer to fire. The man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in Omaha for treatment. The names of the officer and the injured man have not been disclosed.
